THIS MUST BE THE PLACE
My creative process is an endless cycle of strategy, improvisation, rest, and reflection. It is intuitive and experiential. I attempt to play with the borders of interpretation by instigating visual interactions between forms and surfaces that are at once obvious and elusive. These paintings and drawings are tactile but illusory, sometimes sophisticated but also clumsy. The imagery functions as a purveyor of moods, personalities, and emotional resonance. In lieu of the manufactured products that are revered by our industrially driven society, they are the unapologetically strange artifacts of an individual’s creative will.
